 An international conference involving renowned academics, researchers, social scientists and development researchers who were representatives of 18 countries (Russia – from 50 cities of the Russian federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Algeria, Nigeria ), from 85 universities, 39 research centers, social institutions and NGOsand a huge number of audience. Our student, Ola Bamidele Emmanual, shares his experience of participating this conference.

During the first week of September the VI International Summer School "Measurement of volunteer activities: economic efficiency, social effects, and its impact into development of a country, regions, and municipalities" took place in Moscow . The event was organized by the Centre for Studies of Civil Society and Non-Profit Sector . Evgenia Fedorova, the student of the 2nd year 'Population and Development', shares her experience.

The application period for HSE’s Student Research Paper Competition has started. The winners will have an opportunity to take part in workshops on academic skills development, while those in state-financed studies will improve their chances of seeing their academic scholarships increased. Also, in addition in HSE students, learners from other academic institutions are eligible for this competition.

The Young Leaders for Health (YLH) is an interdisciplinary platform with the aim to stimulate exchange of knowledge and opportunity as well as network with people across the globe involved in Global Health. With support from the World Health Summit and Charité University of Medicine, the YLH Conference 2017 was organized at the Charité University Campus in Berlin, Germany from 17th-20th August 2017. The VII International Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations ‘Economic Instruments of Foreign Policy in the Modern World’ was held on July 6-13 at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (Moscow) in full cooperation with the East China Normal University (Shanghai) and with the support of the Gorchakov Fund.

It was a party like no other when the second years Master Population and Development class took to the Moscow river to unwind, celebrate and bond as they end their academic journey. After partying the party ended with a mock graduation where each person received a "certificate". The two-year program brought together students from different continents and backgrounds from America, Canada, Europe to China, from Africa, Russia, former soviet countries to Pakistan. From pilots, doctors and teachers to pastors and lawyers! We congratulate these scholars for setting the bar so high by their intelligence, academic discipline and high level of scholarship. As our pioneers, you have made us proud and worthy of emulation. We all join hands in saying - Congratulations!

On June 4, 2017, HSE is holding ‘The Whole World at HSE’ festival, dedicated to the cultures of different peoples. It’s a great opportunity for many international students to share information about their country’s culture and explain how Russian culture might be perceived by people with a different mentality. In the part, HSE international students and faculty have shared their views on both their and our respective cultures.

From May 29 to June 18 students can vote for HSE’s best teachers of the academic year. This year there is no need to come to the university to vote. Students can submit their scores online via LMS.
