New cohort of MASNA students

In the 2023/24 academic year, a group of 30 students began studying in the master’s programme 'Applied Statistics with Network Analysis Methods'. The school year officially started on October 2.

The background of the new cohort of students is very diverse: there are those who come from both industry and academia, including those who are simultaneously studying in graduate school or have already defended their Ph.D. The areas from which our master's students came to us are also very diverse: sociology, economics, finance, political science, psychoanalysis, linguistics, media, international relations, data science, programming, medicine, etc. Despite the difficult political situation, foreign students enrolled in the program from the USA and Mexico.

In our new cohort, students are very conscious and know what they want. Therefore, while maintaining our approach to education, we are ready to work with their expectations and adapt the variable part of the programme to their needs.


In 2022, admission to the programme was temporarily suspended. However, over the past year, the ANR-Lab team has done a lot of work to ensure that the master's programme reopens its doors. We rebuilt the curriculum, entered into agreements with old and new teachers (incl. foreign), participated in the PR campaign of the master's programme and, of course, worked with applicants, and also solved the difficulties that foreign applicants had when paying for tuition.  

The format of education has changed - the master’s programme has officially acquired the status of 'online degree'. This is a full-time programme, but the delivery method is online. Students have the same rights as any offline student: they can use the library, come for consultations with academic advisors on campus if they are in Moscow, take electives, attend HSE events for students, and much more.

In November 2023, a new admissions campaign 2024/25 for foreign applicants will start. For applicants from the Russian Federation, it will begin in April 2024. If you would like to have a consultation, you may write to the deputy academic supervisor of MASNA Irina Pavlova (iapavlova@hse.ru).
