Portfolio composition and evaluation criteria

 

Dear applicants!
When applying to several educational programmes, please kindly attach a full package of documents per our programme's requirements. Otherwise, we may not have access to your entire portfolio.


Mandatory part

1. Education

You should provide a copy of your higher education certificate (Bacherlor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Specialist’s Degree). The field of prior education is of no importance, we are mostly interested in the average grade of the courses. The Honours Degree is a nice bonus.

2. Motivation letter / Personal Statement 

(in English, approx. 1000 words)

You should make a case for why you will fit into our programme, that is to show that you are conscious of your choice of specialization. You should describe how your practical and scientific interests are connected to the applied statistics, what you expect to get from a master's degree, and what you plan to do in the future.

The content of the letter, the structure, the language of presentation are assessed.

3. Resume (CV)

CV with your education and professional experience

We are interested to know more about your experience and achievements. There you can indlude:

  • research experience, including: theses, participation in scientific conferences, academic schools and research seminars, publications, research projects
  • applied research work, or consulting experience
  • other personal achievements

4. Proof of English language proficiency

All courses at this Master’s programmeare taught in English, therefore, you should be able to understand the material given during classes and participate in group work with other students.
The proof is not required if your native language is English, or if you have studied in English.
The hours of English at the university are taken into account. TOEFL, IELTS or equivalent tests are optional, but are a bonus.

5. Letters of recommendations

We ask you for two letters of recommendation, one of which can be from your scientific supervisor or a tutor. Letters of recommendation should include full name of the signatory, their position, affiliation, phone and e-mail.


6.  Additional materials:
6.1. additional documents on education (on advanced training, courses, professional certificates, etc.)
6.2. documents confirming participation in scientific publications, presentations at scientific seminars/conferences
6.3. documents confirming experience in scientific research activities
6.4. documents confirming international scholarships or grants


7. Interview in English (online, uppointed after portfolio submission)
