MASNA graduates are laureates of the research competition
Graduates of the master's programme 'Applied Statistics with Network Analysis" became laureates of the student research competition.
Bayramov Emil and Dolgopolova Yulia, graduates of the 2023, conducted a joint research on the topic 'Inclusion of Electric Vehicles Semantic Image into Predictive Econometric Models (Based on the Network Analysis of Online Media Discourse in the USA)' under the supervision of MASNA academic supervisor Ivan Klimov.
Their work was noted by members of the jury of the NIRS competition in the category 'Best research work in sociology for master’s students and graduates of 2023.'
In their work, Emil and Yulia consider a methodological approach in assessing the growing US electric vehicle market in 2015-2022 using the discourse created in the media as an influencing factor. To identify discourse, they use semantic network analysis as the only and main approach for analyzing unstructured data in this work. Semantic networks are analyzed using network analysis methods to obtain quantitative and qualitative information. Quantitative indicators can support qualitative analysis and research of semantic structures. To find the relationship between EV sales and semantic structures, the VAR and ARDL econometric models are used. The important finding from these models is the significant media influence on EV sales in the US.
We congratulate our graduates on their success!
