Applied Social Psychology at the Winter School-2018
On January 23th master’s program “Applied Social Psychology” participated in HSE’s Winter School for the Faculty of Social Sciences. Traditionally this event is a great possibility for prospective students to learn about the opportunities of master’s programs and discover something new through training sessions, group assignments and discussions.
As always, Winter School was held outside Moscow city in Voronovo HSE Study Center, which allows the guests to ask all the questions and get acquainted with professors and their programs while being surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Besides general information about the double-degree program in Applied Social Psychology the coordinators also organized a master class on cross-cultural communication. According to the feedback, this small session helped prospective students understand the specifics of the program, get to know each other, charge themselves with energy and see new career perspectives.
The master class covered some work issues with stereotypes and prejudice, ethnic identity and cross-cultural communication. These areas, naturally being very topical, were bringing a lot of participants into the discussion. Alexander Tatarko and Victoria Galyapina, who coordinated the session, shared their experiences in training and bringing together different cultures.
The session ended with participants and coordinators exchanging contacts for further collaboration, including the Research seminar of the International Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research.
