The second enrolment in the program has increased by a third as compared with the previous year!

The new academic year has experienced a significant increase in students’ interest for the English-language Master’s programme "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation": While 30 students were enrolled in 2014, this year 44 applicants showed outstanding performance in the tough application competition. Among them, there are 10 international students who arrived from Ghana, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, the USA, Uzbekistan, South Korea and France.

HSE Student Completes an Internship at OECD

While studying for an MA in the Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, students can put themselves forward for internships in leading innovative companies, state agencies, or international organizations.  This year, five candidates were shortlisted in preliminary selection rounds and Anastasia Trunina was the one chosen to do an internship at OECD. She has spoken to HSE News about the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology, and Innovation projects she was involved in this summer.

Applications for the Master’s Programme are accepted till July 15

In 2014, HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) successfully launched the English-language Master’s Programme "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation". On the basis of the first enrolment rate the Programme was listed among Top-7 HSE Master’s programmes with the highest competitive selection.

“We have a motto to follow: ‘The programme is designed not for professors but for students’”, — Dr. Dirk Meissner, the academic director of the Master’s programme “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation” said smiling broadly. On 14 April, within the framework of the Open Doors Day, there was a 2-hour conversation with the involvement of potential and current students, professors, representatives of state agencies, business and development companies devoted to programme objectives and reasons for choosing this particular programme.

The Master's Programme concludes partnership agreements with 5 recognized universities

HSE has finalised agreements with its international partner universities for new double diplomas and student exchanges in the framework of the Master’s programme. Dr. Dirk Meissner, academic director of the Master’s programme, spoke about how the new agreements are made to give master’s students the best opportunities for study abroad and double degree programmes.

A visit of Prof. Max von Zedtwitz with the lecture “Managing Global Innovation: the Global View”

 On October 8th, 2014 Prof. Max von Zedtwitz lectured at HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK) in the Master’s Programme “Governance in Science, Technology and Innovation” on “Managing Global Innovation: the Global View”.

On October 6th and 7th, 2014, Maria Douka, Programme Officer at the European Commission, gave two lectures at HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK). 

Extending borders of the Master’s Programme – experience a new opportunity for student exchange!

National Research University - Higher School of Economics (HSE) and Seoul National University College of Engineering, Republic of Korea (SNU) have concluded a student exchange partnership for students of the Master’s programmes “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation” (HSE) and “Technology Management, Economics and Policy Programme” (SNU).

Olympiad winners and prize holders have been announced

According to the results of the Olympiad, which took place at HSE on 16 March, there have been announced 2 winners and 4 prize holders. These students have an advantage of entering the Master Programme without taking part in the general admission selection.

Open Doors Day for the Master’s programme "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation" was held on April, 8th at HSE premises.

On 8 April the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge held Open Doors day for the Master’s programme "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation" launching in the new academic year. The prospective students — quite interested judging by their questions — met the programme administrators, their future teachers, and potential employers: the presentation was attended by prominent members of the business community and government agencies.
