The students' field trip to the “Decade of Science and Technology” exhibition: A glimpse into the world of Russian S&T
Our students recently had the opportunity to visit the “Decade of Science and Technology exhibition”, an interactive showcase of the latest advancements in Russian science and technology. The exhibition, held at the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia" in Moscow, featured 14 thematic halls, each dedicated to a specific area of scientific and technological development.
The exhibition's emphasis on interactivity further enhanced the learning experience. Students actively participated in hands-on exhibits, gaining a deeper understanding of complex scientific concepts through practical engagement. At the beginning of the trip in the exhibition, each guest receives an intelligent tracker (bracelet), which records interest in the displays and elements of the exhibition. This intelligent tracker allows visitors to build their own trajectory for the development of a scientific career.
Students appreciated the interactive and interconnected nature of the exhibits, as one of our students, Dmitry Semenov, expressed:
“What I liked most was the interactivity of the exhibition - you can touch the exhibits and get information through interaction with the stands. The stands complement each other and are a logically connected whole object, rather than individual exhibits. This method of conveying information is universal, they can be understood even without knowing the language.”
Ekaterina Antonova, also said:
“I liked the halls about ecology and peace & war, which make you think a lot and redesign some of your thoughts, and not just learn new facts.”
The students also recognized the exhibition's aim to introduce the achievements and prospects of domestic science and involve the younger generation in the field of research and development, highlighting the importance of exhibitions like these in for fostering public awareness, understanding, and engagement with the rapidly evolving landscape of innovative technologies. Such exhibitions act as dynamic forums that present the most recent developments in S&T while promoting dialogue on their ethics, governance, and societal impacts.
The "Decade of Science and Technology" exhibition is just one example of the many initiatives that are being undertaken to promote scientific literacy and engagement among the younger generation. Our program offers similar immersive experiences that provide students with the opportunity to develop practical skills and build a network of industry contacts, contributing to their future success in this dynamic and rapidly evolving field.
