Innovation Configurations in Knowledge-Intensive Business Services

The article 'Innovation Configurations in Knowledge-Intensive Business Services' by Ian Miles, Veronika Belousova and Nikolay Chichkanov was published in a new special issue of 'Forsight and STI Governance' journal (vol. 11, No. 3), devoted to various aspects of the development of innovative entrepreneurship in a transition economy.

The sector of KIBS demonstrates a high level of innovative activity, and the demand for research into the specifics of various areas of this sphere is growing. In the article 'Innovation Configurations in Knowledge-Intensive Business Services' on a sample of Russian companies, Ian Miles, Veronika Belousova and Nikolay Chichkanov consider the types of innovations and the dependence of the demand for KIBS on the innovative activity of customers. Companies were classified into the following clusters: innovative-passive; organizational-oriented; marketing-oriented; non-technological; technological; diversified innovators. The larger company in the KIBS sector considers its activities in the market, the more deversified its innovative profile.
