From August 9 to 18 Summer School of Linguistics took place in Kroměříž (Czech Republic). The relationship between early phonological and lexical development, phonetic learning in adults, as well as children's phonological development before birth and in the first years of life were discussed. Victoria Reshetnikova, research assistant at the Center for Language and Brain, participated in a discussion of these issues, as well as in a workshop on working with spaCy software used for automatic processing of natural language data. In addition, Victoria took an active part in the workshop on creating stimuli for true matched guise experiments using Praat. The school also discussed the basics of working and data preprocessing when adding it to the CHILDES database.
During the poster session, Victoria presented a research plan on the topic “Phonological processing and sentence comprehension in Russian”.
