Multilingual spatial test

Disorders of spatial processing are a characteristic feature of semantic aphasia (aphasia is a systemic impairment in formed speech resulting from a stroke, trauma, tumor, or infection). Previously, a paper version of the test for the understanding of spatial structures was created. The results showed that spatial processing disorders are also found in people with other types of aphasia, in particular, semantically reversible sentences were more difficult to process than irreversible ones.

To clarify these results, as well as to determine whether certain types of errors are specific only to semantic aphasia, the test for understanding spatial structures was supplemented and programmed on the tablet. The test includes five construction types: prepositional, comparative, attributive, instrumental and temporary; reversible and irreversible constructions of each type are used. The task is to listen to the construction and tap on one of the two pictures on the screen that corresponds to it. It is planned to collect and compare data in several languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian.
