Vision Modelling Laboratory at the Autumn Neurolinguistic School in Nizhny Novgorod
On November 8, Maria Gracheva (a junior researcher at the VML) presented a poster at the Autumn Neurolinguistic School in Nizhny Novgorod. In her presentation, Maria talked about testing the hypothesis about the influence of the state of activation of the oculomotor reflex system on the resulting type of inhibition of return. The results were surprising: in a number of conditions, suppression of the oculomotor system did not cause return inhibition. In addition, the accuracy of the responses turned out to be dependent on the type of saccadic task (pro- or anti-saccade), although it was previously thought to be tied specifically to the type of return inhibition.
