Find out What HSE Students Are Writing about in Their Theses
The Higher School of Economics began compiling a full catalogue of student theses in 2013. The catalogue can now be accessed on the university’s website.
The HSE website now has an updated service that provides you with the most important information about HSE students’ final papers. The website allows you to learn about a thesis’ topic, the academic supervisor of the project, and the degree programme that the student completed. In addition, you can read abstracts of the papers in both Russian and English.
You can search for papers by HSE campus, faculty, defense year (starting in 2013), and level of education (bachelor’s or master’s). Additionally, with the permission of the paper’s author, the website lists the final grade the paper received after the thesis defense, as well as the full text of the work.
The catalogue is automatically updated when a student writes a snapshot of the work on their Learning Management System (LMS) profile. This snapshot, or ‘card,’ includes a section where the student can check a box to allow for the full text to be published on the HSE website.
As for the academic supervisors of the papers, a full list of all the projects the instructor has supervised now appears on the instructor’s personal profile page. Instructors also have access to additional information on the LMS system.
This new service aims to improve how HSE’s educational process is organised by making it more open to people both inside and outside the university. This might come in handy for employers who want to learn more about an HSE graduate’s research interests.
