For the first time, HSE University in St Petersburg introduced international partners to the programmes of continuing professional development (CPD) that have been implemented at the university. The presentation took place during the visit of representatives of the HSE Institute of Continuing Professional Education to India.

The programmes were presented to several leading Indian universities: the University of Delhi, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women.

The University of Delhi was the first in the country to launch continuing education programmes in management. The Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi cooperates with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and some of the largest global companies, including Nestlé, Microsoft, and Google. The faculty also partners with HSE University in St Petersburg.

The representatives of HSE University in St Petersburg and Virender Manral, Vice President, International Relations at IIT Delhi, discussed options for implementing short-term exchange programmes.

‘Our cooperation with Indian colleagues is especially promising in corporate training,’ said Elena Skalon, Director of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education at HSE University in St Petersburg. ‘We see the demand of Russian businesses for a systematic approach to the development of business relations with India. This would help resolve the challenges of entering the Indian market in the shortest possible time, determine an approximate return on investment, develop an effective business model and plans for further actions, as well as find reliable partners in this country and conduct effective negotiations.’

HSE representatives also carried out negotiations with the OP Jindal Global University, the best private university for law in India, as well as with Chitkara University, the country's leading educational institution in engineering, management, pharmacy, and medical sciences. Following these discussions, the parties agreed to create joint educational programmes engaging teachers from India and Russia. During the meetings, the colleagues outlined a range of topical issues: project management, operations and supply chain management, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and healthcare management. Indian colleagues are also interested in a developing partnership with HSE University in a number of other areas.

The introduction of an international component in corporate training and the exchange of views and experiences of representatives of relevant industries in Russia and India are the most promising areas of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of continuing education,’ said Elena Moiseeva, Head of the Corporate Training Department at HSE University in St Petersburg. ‘The experience of Russian business will undoubtedly interest Indian companies, while the experts from HSE University will add value to corporate training in Indian companies.’
