Title: The current scenarios of Cancer research and In Vitro and In Silico  anti cancer studies

Speaker: Dr. Parthiban Anaikutti, Assistant Professor, Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS). Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Abstract:  In this present seminar, the current scenarios of cancer research are explored. The important milestones of anti-cancer studies both In vitro and In silico studies will be discussed. In particular of my research, I will present, an efficient catalysts Cu(OTf)andIwere used for the synthesis of C(3)-substituted isoindolinones, imidazo pyrazines and pyridines in a good to excellent yields. The structure of all compounds was analysed and confirmed by HRMS, 1H, 13C NMR, and FT-IR spectrometry techniques. The crystal structure analysis indicated the presence of significant intermolecular interactions, including C—H···O, O—H···O, and C—H···N hydrogen bonds.  Further, the anti-cancer activities of the all synthesized compounds were evaluated against two cancerous cell lines with two positive control such as; Doxorubicin and paclitaxel. In addition, we report that the ferrocene-substituted isoindolinone derivative displayed promising anticancer activity, which confirms that the ferrocene isoindolinone has dual bio-active capabilities. We demonstrated photo physical properties of these imidazo pyrazines and imidazo pyridines to confirms the fluorescent nature of prepared compounds. Molecular docking and ADMET studies also performed to confirm the biological activity of the prepared compounds.
