28th HSE Camping Weekend to Take Place in Moscow Region
A traditional autumn camping weekend organized by the HSE Extreme Sports Club will take place on September 23 and 24. The event is open not only to HSE students and staff, but for backpacking lovers from other universities as well.
The weekend event welcomes all who are drawn by the romance of tents and fires, the starry sky, and heart-warming outdoor gatherings. Active sports fans are also welcome.
In addition, the HSE Camping Weekend is also a great opportunity to learn some key skills that are essential for backpacking. Even you are an experienced backpacker, you’ll be able to find partners for new journeys and more complicated routes.
The HSE Camping Weekend will take place near the TopGun paintball club, between the towns of Khotkovo and Sergiev Posad. You can get there on your own, first by a commuter train from the Yaroslavsky Train Station to Khotkovo station, and then by foot from the station.
What to bring along

- a sleeping bag
- a camping mat
- food (instant porridge, pasta, corned beef etc) and drinks
- a mug, a spoon, a bowl, a knife
- warm clothes
- waterproof footwear
- a flashlight
FAQ
We are not from HSE, can we come?
You definitely SHOULD come. We ourselves love to go to various tourist rallies organized by other clubs and universities and are happy to extend a warm welcome to people not from HSE.
None of my friends wants to go. I’m afraid I’ll be bored alone. I presume most people come in groups?
This is the most popular misconception. The rally is one big family. If you decide to come alone, you’ll only stay that way for the first five minutes. You’re sure to meet someone!
We are coming as a group. Can we organize our own campfire?
Of course, you’re more than welcome to.
