HSE and Gnesin Russian Academy of Music to Jointly Train Producers for Music Industry
HSE University and the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music (RAM) have developed an educational programme for the music industry. The 2025/26 academic year will see the launch of ‘Producer in the Music Industry,’ a joint Russian-taught master's programme. The HSE Academic Council approved the programme on November 27.
This innovative programme combines expert knowledge in management, media communications, and digital technologies (HSE University) with deep professional competencies in musicology (RAM). Upon completion, graduates will receive two master’s degrees—one from HSE University and the other from RAM.
The programme was designed by faculty members from the HSE Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI) and the Department of Performing Arts Production at RAM. The academic supervisor of the new programme is Sergey Gorbachev, an FCI expert, academician of the Russian Academy of Radio, and vice president of ZAO Multimedia Holding. The project director is Oleg Ivanov, head of the Department of Performing Arts Production at RAM and an expert from the HSE Film Institute.
Classes will take place at HSE University and RAM campuses, as well as at facilities provided by the programme's industry partners. Applicants must submit a portfolio, write a motivation letter, and pass an interview. Applications are already open on the programme's website (in Russian).
