Preparations are underway at HSE University for Parallel Computational Technologies (PCT) 2025, an IT conference covering all aspects of the use of cloud, supercomputer, and neural network technologies in science and engineering. Applications to present at the conference (including those from early-career scientists) are open until January 1, 2025.

HSE University will host the 19th annual international scientific Parallel Computational Technologies (PCT) conference in 2025. The event focuses on the development and application of high-performance computing systems in various fields of science and technology.

The conference topics encompass all aspects of using cloud, supercomputer, and neural network technologies in science and engineering, including applications, hardware and software, specialised models, languages, libraries, and packages. The main goal of the event is to provide a platform for discussing the prospects for developing parallel computing technologies.

The conference will take place in Moscow from April 8 to 10, 2025, at the HSE Cultural Centre on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The programme will be based on submitted presentation proposals across 18 scientific topics. Papers will be published in the ‘Communications in Computer and Information Science’ series by Springer, indexed in Web of Science and Scopus, and in the journal Bulletin of SUSU. Series ‘Computational Mathematics and Informatics’, included in RSCI and the List of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Publications Category 2 (made up by the Russian Higher Attestation Commission). The deadline for article submissions is February 1, 2025.

Elena Odoevskaya

‘The Parallel Computational Technologies (PCT) 2025 conference is a landmark event in the world of information technology,’ emphasised HSE University Vice Rector Elena Odoevskaya. The event will bring together leading scientists and practitioners in the field of supercomputer technologies.

‘High-performance computing plays a key role in the IT sector. It enables the processing of large data sets and solving complex engineering and scientific problems with the highest precision. The conference will serve as a platform for discussing new ideas, technologies, and methods that could transform the IT industry,’ said the vice rector. She noted that presenting at the conference is an excellent opportunity for researchers and developers to share their ideas and experiences with colleagues, showcase the latest research, and discuss practical aspects of implementing new technologies.

A special section and competition will be organised for early-career presenters. The best presentations will be recognised with certificates and cash prizes.

Throughout the conference, a supercomputer exhibition will be held, where leading hardware and software manufacturers will showcase their latest developments.

The conference is organised by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Supercomputer Consortium of Russian Universities. It is supported by the Moscow Centre for Fundamental and Applied Mathematics. For more details and to apply, visit the Parallel Computational Technologies (PCT) 2025 website.

'HSE and VK's Engineering and Mathematics School Lets You Gain Serious Work Experience While Studying'

It has been more than two months since HSE and VK launched a new collaborative educational project: the Engineering and Mathematics School (EMS) based at HSE MIEM. Competitive enrolment was announced in Moscow for HSE students wishing to enter EMS. Those who were admitted are now working at EMS workshops on actual business assignments from VK covering the most in-demand areas of IT, while also attending signature courses led by HSE and VK experts. Several students of the school's first enrolment batch have shared their impressions with the HSE News Service.

‘IT Is an Untapped Mine of Professions’

As adept at mathematics as HSE MIEM graduate and Twin3D Chief Engineer Nikita Zimenko was, he turned out to be even more inquisitive, with the result that he fell out of love with math and set his sights on digital technologies instead. In this interview with Success Builder, he explained how to conduct research on astromechanics, what 3D animators do with the human body and whether metaverses have a future.
