Vladimir Kantor and Elena Besschetnova Took Part in Popsophia Festival
On July 14-17 the annual international conference and festival Popsophia was held in Pesaro, Italy. This time the event was dedicated to the problems of war and violence in contemporary philosophy and took place in the fortress built by Costanzo Sforza.
Russian philosophers, HSE staff members Vladimir Kantor and Elena Besschetnova, took part in the event for the first time in history. Vladimir Kantor presented the report on the provocation of violence as a path to civilizational breakdowns. The report raised interest among the organizers and participants. Elena Besschetnova also presented the report in Italian. The conference organisers titled the presentations by HSE participants as ‘the return of Russian philosophy’ (Il Ritorno della Filosofia Russa).
