HSE Develops Discussion Programme for World Festival of Youth and Students

An agreement relating to the programme was signed by HSE and Roscongress Foundation at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In October 2017 Russia will host the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. The festival agenda will focus on elaborating visions of the future among young people from different countries, and finding solutions to the most pressing challenges faced by these generations. The programme involves educational events such as lectures, training sessions, workshops, master classes, business games, design and foresight sessions that will be held at the Sochi media center.

HSE will develop the educational and discussion programme for this event, as stated in the agreement signed by HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov and Kseniya Razuvaeva, Head of the Organizing Committee of the World Festival of Youth and Students by Roscongress Foundation at the at St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017.

The agreement was signed immediately after the talk show "Economy of the Future", in which international teams from four universities from Moscow and St. Petersburg (including HSE) presented their visions of the future economy.

We created Hari the robot and named him after Hari Seldon, a character who can predict the future in the works of science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. He is based on a machine-learning model that selects news based on the behavioural metrics of HSE website users.

Open Day: The Future Begins Here

On March 2, an HSE Open Day for prospective undergraduates and specialist students will take place — one of the largest and most significant events for applicants, their parents, and the entire university. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with students and representatives of educational programmes, plan their admission process, and immerse themselves in the HSE University atmosphere for a day. The event will be held in Russian.
