25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference Now Accepting Proposals
Reports on new research results will be presented and discussed as part of the conference’s sections. These reports will be selected based on reviews of proposals. As always, the conference programme features expert discussions of the most pressing economic, social, internal and external issues in the format of roundtables and associated events.
HSE University Urban Planners Take Part in Global Mayors’ Forum in Guangzhou, China
A team from HSE University's Faculty of Urban and Regional Development took part in the Global Mayor’s Forum—a global event in urban development. Held in December 2023 in Guangzhou (PRC), the largest congress of urban planners brought together more than 800 guests from 65 cities and 37 countries, as well as nine international organisations.
Olympiads, Postdocs, World-class Research Centres: Opportunities for Young International Researchers in Russia
The III Young Scientists Congress took place in the Sirius Science and Art Park on November 28–30, 2023. On the first day of the forum, a discussion was held on the tools and opportunities for engaging international early-career researchers in Russian science. The meeting was organised by HSE University together with members of the Association of Global Universities.
Experts from HSE University Explore Prospects for Carbon Farming in Kazakhstan
HSE University’s International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre and the university’s Centre for Technology Transfer, together with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA, Vienna), have released a draft version of the research report ‘The Carbon Farming Industry in Kazakhstan: Unlocking Opportunities.’ Experts from the UN Convention to Combat Desertification and the Kazakhstan-based TALAP Centre for Applied Research also took part in the project.
At the Forefront of Progress: Universities as a Key Element in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals
The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals can provide a breakthrough in creating a better future for younger generations, and universities are at the forefront of this process. Representatives of world universities discussed how to train future decision-making leaders in the concepts of sustainable development and make education more practice-oriented at the session ‘At the Frontier of Progress: Universities as a Key Element in Achieving SDGs’ in the framework of International Partners’ Week at HSE University.
HSE University Hosts Educational Forum of the Greater Eurasian Partnership
The forum was held as part of HSE University’s International Partners' Week, which coincides with Russia’s chairship of the EAEU and is aimed at connecting the strategies and initiatives of its participants in the fields of education, science, and technology. The forum was attended by representatives from 23 countries and more than 40 scientific and educational organisations. HSE University Study: Domestic Travel Services Prove Their Competitiveness
HSE University’s Institute for Public Administration and Governance (IPAG) has conducted a proactive independent study of digital travel services. Based on the results of this, a rating of 40 tourism platforms was compiled. The platforms were assessed according to 75 parameters. The ratings include those platforms that, in addition to hotel booking services, provide a set of additional options for tourists, are also present in various industry lists, and are often mentioned in media reviews.

Faculty of Urban and Regional Development Develops a Draft of a New Transport Scheme of Obninsk
On May 3rd, a briefing and presentation session of a project for the development of the city's transport scheme took place in the Obninsk administration. This large-scale project has been implemented by staff from the Institute of Transport Economics and Transport Policy Studies of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development.
HSE University Faculty of Computer Science Holds Meetup on Data Science in Yerevan
In late April, the HSE University Faculty of Computer Science organised its first data science meetup in the capital of Armenia together with the Russian-Armenian University (RAU). The event featured speakers from HSE University, Yandex, and SberDevices. The meeting featured the participation of students from Yerevan universities who have recently become acquainted with data science, as well as specialists in the field.
