HSE Students Won Russian Jessup for the Second Year Running
On February 5th, 2017, the national finals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious law competitions for students, was held in Moscow. A team from the HSE Faculty of Law took first place for the second year running.
HSE Announces Olympiad Competitions for English-taught Master’s Programmes
In March 2017, International Olympiad Competitions will be held for perspective students interested in studying in Master’s programmes at HSE University. All current undergraduate students and recent university graduates students interested in pursuing a Master’s degree are invited to participate.
HSE Students and Staff Donate 72.5 Liters of Blood
Over 150 HSE students and staff participated in the latest Donor Day at HSE, giving blood that will help save 483 people’s lives. This initiative was organized by the HSE Armenian Club in conjunction with the Blood Transfusion Centre at the Moscow Healthcare Department.

HSE Faculty of Law student Victor Vorobyev has won the Third National Student Watch Prize for Protecting the Rights of University and College Students in the ‘Human Rights Activist of the Year’ category.

How to Avoid Study Burnout
During the first year of studies, students already often feel disappointed and exhausted. Such burnout in freshman students can be caused by many reasons, such as an abundance of tasks, new classmates, the ‘wrong’ subjects, and even comments left by classmates on social media. Not everyone can manage their reactions to these situations.
HSE Students Presented Digital Books at non/fictio№18
On November 30, 2016, the ‘Digital Publishing’ course was presented at the book fair non/fictio№18.
Students of the ‘Media production in Creative Industries’ MA programme who have just published several digital collections, spoke about how to produce a book in two months. The lecturers shared their opinion on the challenges and difficulties of the course, and the writers and publicists – on their experience of participating in the project.
HSE Team Makes it to Finals of World Collegiate Programming Competition
A team from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science was one of the top-ranking teams in the semi-finals of a collegiate programming tournament held in St. Petersburg this year. HSE’s team will now compete in the finals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, which is set to take place in the United States next May.
