A Satisfying Academic Experience
In Russia, the quality of education is highly valued and cared for, especially since HSE University is one of the best modern universities in Russia, even number one according to Forbes. The master's program at the Faculty of Economic Sciences that I took also had a curriculum designed to provide an in-depth understanding of my field of study (Agrarian Economics). The lecturers who teach are also experts in their fields, coupled with extensive practical experience and a global perspective. Lectures are delivered with innovative teaching methods by utilizing the latest technology and comfortable classrooms, making the learning process more interesting and dynamic. It is not easy to study at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, HSE University, in fact it can be said to be difficult, but if you succeed in getting through it, your competence and mentality will be more mature in facing real life.
One of the most memorable things for me was the opportunity to be involved in a field trip to one of the largest dairy companies in the world, Ekoniva, meeting and discussing with the owner, Stefan Durr, learning to build a business, caring for resources, preserving the environment, and being future-oriented is new knowledge and experience that I gained. In addition, I also attended many international scientific conferences, import-export conferences, got unique tasks such as predicting Russian interest rates to learning coding and analysis using Phyton, R, and SPSS made everything even more memorable.
Interesting Culture and Social Life
Social life in Russia is also very interesting. Facing the challenges of winter weather, I found warmth from the hospitality of local people and international friends. Social events from HSE Outreach, international festivals, and traditional celebrations held by the HSE University International office provide an opportunity to experience Russian culture directly. Tasting local cuisine such as pelmeni, borsch, and blini, as well as learning Russian, further enriched my experience in this country.
Another unforgettable experience was a trip to St. Petersburg when visiting the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum, which furthered my admiration for Russian history and art. Walking along the streets of Moscow’s Arbat and exploring traditional markets also gave me a new perspective on everyday life in Russia.
Moments of Inspiration and Global Connections
Studying in Russia also provided me with the opportunity to build a valuable international network. Meeting students from various countries, such as Austria, Ghana, USA, Serbia, Moldova, Turkey, Ghana and others allowed me to understand different perspectives and ways of thinking. Discussions and collaborations with international colleagues expanded my professional and personal networks, creating opportunities for future collaborations.
Social and academic activities involving international students became moments to exchange experiences and knowledge. Discussions on global topics, participation in international seminars, and extracurricular activities added a new dimension to my learning and enriched my academic experience.
Studying for a master’s degree in HSE University Russia (Faculty of Economic Sciences) was a journey full of unforgettable learning and life experiences. From the immersive academic experience to the fascinating cultural exploration, every aspect of this journey left me with valuable memories.
