At the seminar held on November 21, 2024, MLLE employees Anastasia Dolbnya, a research intern, and Anna Derkacheva, a researcher, talked about modeling the distribution of vegetation classification units (Brown-Blanke system) in the tundra zone of Western Siberia.

The Fourth Workshop of the Lab's Spring Seminar Series Was Held, "Overstorying the Arctic: How Do Neural Networks and Satellite Imagery Allow Us to Study Global Ecosystem Transformation at a Detailed Level?"

At the workshop of May 15, MLLE ph.D. researcher Anna Derkacheva and her co-authors presented technical aspects of processing the application of convolutional neural networks to assess the dynamics of occlusion of images and thematic results of studying the intensity of occlusion in relation to microclimatic conditions of landscapes.

On January 27-29, 2023, the International Conference «Machine Intelligence for GeoAnalytics and Remote Sensing» (MIGARS) Was Held

The key organizer was the IEEE international engineering society. The purpose of the event is to create a communication platform for representatives of dynamically developing high-tech branches of science. Despite the event was held for the first time, it was attended by academia and business from two dozen countries.

February 11, starting from 2016, is observed as the Day of Women and Girls in Science. Employees of the International Laboratory of Landscape Ecology, Natalia Shartova and Anna Derkacheva, shared their research, discussed the challenges in their work, and answered the question of whether anyone can pursue a career in science.
