On March 29, 2024, at a joint meeting of the Institute for Social Policy and the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research of the HSE, the pre-defense of Svetlana Vladimirovna Mareeva’s doctoral dissertation took place.

On June 22, 2022 the presentation of the collective monograph "Society of Unequal Opportunities: Social Structure of Modern Russia" (by Natalia Tikhonova (ed.), Svetlana Mareeva, Vasiliy Anikin, Yulia Lezhnina, Anastasia Karavay, Ekaterina Slobodenyuk) was held.

The grant was awarded to the research team consisting of Svetlana Mareeva (project leader), Nataliya Tikhonova, Vasiliy Anikin, Yulia Lezhnina, Ekaterina Slobodenyuk and Anastasia Karavay within the framework of the President's Program for Research Projects "Research by scientific groups under the guidance of young scientists."

On Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 4 p.m. a collective book “Income Stratification Model of Russian Society: Dynamics, Factors, Cross-country comparisons”  was presented.

At the session chaired by Natalia Tikhonova, chief research fellow of the Center for Stratification Studies, and Vasiliy Anikin, senior research fellow of this Center, Svetlana Mareeva, center director, presented her report "Middle-income group in Russia society: position and dynamics", and Ekaterina Slobodenyuk, research fellow of this Center, presented her report "Where does the poverty line lie in modern Russia?"

Results of a survey by the Levada Centre for social research show that price increases are the thing that Russians worry about most. The second thing on their worry list is poverty and the third, – unemployment. Only a tiny 4% of those asked said they worry about restrictions on civil rights and democratic freedoms.
