HSE University Launches Consortium of BRICS Law Schools
The HSE Faculty of Law hosted an online meeting with law schools and expert centres from BRICS countries. The purpose of the event was to join efforts to advance legal science and practice for the benefit of the organization. To this end, at the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Law Vadim Vinogradov, a Consortium of BRICS Law Schools was established, comprising representatives of leading higher education institutions from a number of countries.

At the end of last year, HSE University invited several leading higher education organizations of the BRICS countries to bring together efforts to develop legal science and practice for the benefit of BRICS and join the Consortium of BRICS Law Schools. The initiative to create the Consortium was launched by Vadim Vinogradov, the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
HSE University to Improve Qualifications of Russian Lawyers from Companies Doing Business in China and India
HSE University’s Faculty of Law has developed two new Continuing Professional Development programmes: ‘Introduction to the Indian Legal System’ and ‘Introduction to the Chinese Legal System.’ What makes these programmes unique is that well-known practising lawyers from these countries will teach there, while leading local law universities will act as partners. The target audience of the programmes is lawyers from Russian companies conducting foreign economic activities in India or China.
HSE University Graduates to Be Able to Receive Diplomas in NFT Format
HSE University and the social network VK are launching a pilot project to issue NFT diplomas. The diplomas will take the form of digital images with programmed metadata about the graduate, their educational programme, and year of graduation. Graduates of 38 continuing professional education programmes at the Faculty of Law from 2019–2023 will be the first to receive such diplomas. Based on the results of the pilot project, the possibility of implementing the innovation in other faculties and educational programmes will be considered.
The First Issue of the HSE University Journal of International Law Is Out Now

At the 543rd plenary meeting held by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vadim Vinogradov, Doctor of Law, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Law, Professor of the HSE School of Public Law, was appointed a member of the High Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation.

HSE University Leads Russian Universities in THE Subject Rankings
HSE University is the top-ranking Russian university in four THE World University Rankings by Subject 2020/21. In addition, HSE has placed in 8 out of 11 subject categories, thereby confirming its status as a multidisciplinary university.
Project Work at the Faculty of Humanities to Comprise a Three-Tier Structure
Project work in the Faculty of Humanities can be divided into three categories of varying scale. Megaprojects bring together employees of different HSE faculties and campuses; projects bring together employees at the faculty level; and more localized projects, which have been tentatively defined as initiative projects, are implemented by teams on an initiative basis. This project work structure and other issues were discussed on Wednesday, July 29 at a meeting of the HSE University administration.

HSE Faculties of Law and Humanities to Be Restructured
The HSE University administration has approved proposed structural changes to the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of the Humanities. The changes will streamline managerial processes and better facilitate the faculties’ pursuit of research and educational objectives. The changes will take effect at the start of new academic year on September 1, 2020.
