History of Art

The ability to understand art and to discuss the meaning of art articulately is a key skill in 21st century culture, and in which means of visual communication play a major role. Participants in this programme become familiar with methods of analysis and integration of fine art. They will also develop their skills in transforming visual ideas and form into text. The ability to ‘read’ art is developed through working with authentic examples of art and architecture. The programme also focuses on methods of critique. It provides, first and foremost, an historical perspective, which results in a multifaceted and professional approach to instruction.
