Teaching Russian as a foreign language is not only about teaching grammar. It is also about introducing the student to the world of Russian culture, and equipping them with the skills to participate in Russian-speaking society. Graduates of this programme, in addition to the traditional training in methodology, theory of language, and Russian studies, also learn how to work with native speakers of Russian (including children), as well as how to use technology and resources such as the Russian National Corpus and the Russian Learner Corpus as part of the learning process. Upon completing this programme, specialists may work as teachers of Russian as a foreign language, researchers, teacher trainers, and as consultants in schools attended by children with non-native Russian.
