The Faculty of Mathematics was established in 2007, and since then it has become the most successful place in Russia for attracting researchers and students in Mathematics. We offer undergraduate, Masters and PhD programmes in Mathematics. The Faculty actively collaborates with Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kharkevich Institute for Information Transmission Problems and Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Russia and numerous universities abroad. HSE is rapidly progressing in Mathematics subject rankings. In 2022 it is ranked as the 72nd on QS World University Ranking by Subject (Mathematics). According to Academic Ranking of World Universities in Mathematics, HSE is also in top 51-75. The U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities by Subject ranking placed HSE at 85 (year 2001). Leading international experts, including Fields laureate Andrey Okounkov, collaborate with the Faculty.
