Systems Analysis and Mathematical Technologies

The new programme in the research and development of mathematical modelling methods and advanced computer technology welcomed its first students in 2021. Professionals in this field are essential in working with complex information systems and big data.

The programme is aimed at developing professional competencies in the application of machine learning to a wide range of tasks, from mathematical modelling to the development of effective computational methods.

The new master’s programme combines courses from three successful master’s programmes taught at the MIEM HSE School of Applied Mathematics.

HSE MIEM Professor Lev Shchur Receives Prestigious International Award

Professor Lev Shchur has received the Henri Abraham Award 2022 for his services in organising science, including conducting international conferences and supporting early-career scientists. The award was established by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in 2020, and has since been given to six researchers from various countries.
