On March 9-15th HSE Extreme Sports Club is organizing the fourth ski and snowboarding trip to Elbrus and Cheget for HSE students, graduates and staff, and friends. Registration is open until March 7th, 2015.
The slopes are on the south side of Elbrus. This isn’t just geographical information, as these slopes (of the highest mountain on the continent) have a lot of flat and long snowy fields that are suitable for beginners. Club instructors will teach the beginners quickly and safely how to go down the slope on skis or snowboarding.
Skilled skiers will definitely prefer more difficult slopes, where they can improve their techniques and try new elements and tricks with the help of instructors.
Harry Rutberg, Head of the X-Club has no doubt that everyone will enjoy the new-fallen March snow highly appreciated by snowboarders, and the wonderful mountain sun.
‘I have been dreaming of the Caucasus for a long time, and until recently I didn’t think I could go there,’ says Alesya Osadchaya, who went on the latest trip to Elbrus. — So when I heard that the guys from the X-Club were planning this trip I didn’t hesitate for a second. And I have absolutely no regrets. It was my first ride on Elbrus - the top of Europe, as well as on Cheget. I had a room in the famous pension ‘Itkol’, where Vladimir Vysotsky stayed several times. I also bathed in the Aushiker hot springs, where the water temperature reaches 30 degrees in open spaces, and 45-50 degrees in private baths. The feeling is unforgettable. And even when we were advised not to go skiing because of heavy snowfall, we had a lot of fun indoors, as there were plenty of good places to go - a bar, billiards, table tennis, a skating rink, paintball, cafes, hookah, etc. We could also walk in the woods, so everyone found something to do.’
Accommodation is provided in comfortable rooms in a guesthouse with breakfast and dinner included. The club organizes transport from the airport to the house and back and provides sports equipment, if you don’t have your own. Registration is open until March 7th, 2015. If you are interested in going to the trip, please contact Irina Stachenkova via her page in Vkontakte or phone: 8-910-472-09-95.
