HSE has become the recipient of one of the most prestigious Russian IT awards in the ‘Educational Institutions’ category.
The IT Leader Award has been given annually since 2002. One of its aims is ‘to find organizations and persons who have made the most visible contribution in spreading information technology in Russia during the year’.
The best of the best are determined by the results of an expert vote together with a public vote on the internet. Remarkably, in HSE’s case, both the experts and the public agreed.
The award highlighted such achievements as the standardization of IT services, the creation of a service model of user support and organizing a manageable process of corporate information system development, as well as the transition to project management and the implementation of new systems (such as the class scheduling system and the HSE-BPM self-service portal).
‘Thousands of students come to HSE every year, and we are trying to make their studying process as comfortable and interesting for them as possible’, said Andrey Shevtsov, HSE Senior Director for IT, at the awards ceremony, ‘We favour a proactive approach, since universities are the place to implement the technologies of the future. As an HSE representative, I’m very happy that our scheduling system project was appreciated both by the experts and the general user’.
