Andrey Kokoshin of the Russian Academy of Sciences Appointed Deputy Academic Supervisor of HSE University

Professor Kokoshin has served as Academic Secretary in the Department of Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences and is the former Dean of the Faculty of World Politics at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Professor Kokoshin has been working at HSE University since 2008. Currently, he holds the position of Academic Supervisor in the Institute of Innovation Management.

He has served as First Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation, Secretary of the Defense Council of the Russian Federation, and Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. He has also served as an elected member of the State Duma.

Andrey Kokoshin is the recipient of several awards of the USSR and the Russian Federation, including the Order of the Badge of Honour; the Order of Honour; the Order of Friendship; the Order ‘For Merits before the Fatherland’, IV and III degrees; the Order ‘Commonwealth’ of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly; the Honorary Badge of the State Duma of the Russian Federation ‘For Merits in Development of Legislation and Parliamentarism’; and medals and honorary badges awarded by the Russian Security Council, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, and the Border Service of the Russian Federation.

Professor Kokoshin graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. He is Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences and a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences. He is the author of numerous fundamental academic works on Russian national security and international security, which have been published in Russia and in many other countries.
