HSE Snow Fest 2020

HSE Snow Fest is an annual winter event that brings the whole campus together on a Moscow ski slope. On March 1 at Lata Track, you can ski for free, learn the basics of snowboarding, as well as participate in mini slalom skiing and snowboarding competitions.

Time and Place

Festival starts: 11:30 am

Slalom competitions start: 1:30 pm

Location: Lata Track sports centre (Molodezhnaya metro station)

Admission is free, but preliminary registration is required.

 Important Info

The slope will be open for free for everyone who has registered, from noon to 5 pm, with a special ski-pass. You can get a pass from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at a tent down the hill after signing a responsibility acknowledgment. We recommend arriving in advance to avoid queues.

At the festival, there will be free skiing, competitions and games, food, music and high spirits!

Equipment Rental

To participate in the sports festival, you can rent equipment onsite or bring your own.

Information for those who want to rent skiing equipment. Here are some tips on how to do it easily without spending a fortune:

 Use the rental at Lata Track on the day of the event. Check the prices here (in Russian).

 Use cheaper rental places in the city, such as http://skintex.ruhttp://www.snowprokat.ru, or http://prokatnadmitrovke.ru

 And, of course, you can borrow skis or a snowboard from your friends.

 Important info

1.      If you are going to use the ski rental at Lata Track, you’ll have to leave your ID as a deposit (passport or driver’s license, but not a student ID).

2.      Make sure you have all the equipment you need before arriving at the slope, since ski-passes are given at the slope.

Slalom Competitions

The competitions are organized by the HSE Extreme Sports Club with the support of the KANT sports centre’s professional judge team. Each participant will have two attempts. Winners will receive valuable prizes from HSE University and the event’s partners.

Competition Schedule

11:30 am – 12:30 pm registration and distribution of start numbers at the registration tent on the slope

1:00 pm – first attempt, skiing (women), skiing (men)

1:45 pm – first attempt, snowboarding (women), snowboarding (men)

2:15 pm – second attempt, skiing (women), skiing (men)

3:00 pm – second attempt, snowboarding (women), snowboarding (men)

4:45 pm – winners announced

If you want to take part in the competitions, please make sure you mention it in the registration form.

 Important Info

A start number is given only for two attempts and should be returned to the organizers immediately after making the second attempt.

Skiing and Snowboarding Lessons

Any festival participant can learn to ride a snowboard or to ski with instructors of the HSE Extreme Sports Club, starting at 11:00 am. If you want to take a lesson, please mention it in the registration form. Please remember that all trainees need to come to the slope ready with their equipment, since no equipment will be available on site.
