HSE University student returned from Rome on February 18. A week after coming back to Russia, he felt sick and visited a doctor. The student was hospitalized and given a test for coronavirus, which came back negative; he was diagnosed with a viral respiratory infection.
In the hospital the student shared a room with a patient suspected of being infected by the coronavirus. The HSE student was retested and will be quarantined for 14 days.
Since the student's first tests did not show the presence of coronavirus, there are no grounds for concern for residents of the HSE dormitory and other students. Since first contact with a potential carrier of the coronavirus, the student has not left the hospital.
HSE University is remaining in touch with representatives of Rospotrebnadzor and will follow the necessary recommendations.
