HSE University received 99 out of 108 possible points, improving its performance from last year by 2 points and expanding its lead over the ranking’s runner up, Ural Federal University, by 17 points.
Compiled by the Russian International Affairs Council since 2015, the ranking analyzes university websites in accordance with 108 criteria that are distributed among several broader thematic categories. In 2020, 67 Russian universities were included in the ranking.
The ranking also compares the English-language websites of Russian universities with those of top QS-ranked foreign universities that maintain English-language websites. Among them were the University of Amsterdam, the University of Tokyo, and Abu Dhabi University. The committee analyzed a total of 12 English-websites of international universities.
‘Our comparative analysis showed that the leaders of the Russian university ranking surpass their foreign counterparts both in terms of the electronic internationalization index as a whole and in terms of their performance in the individual categories: Partners (85.7% vs. 58.3%), Mission and Strategic Goals (95.2% vs. 77.8%), News (90.5% vs. 75%), History (74.3% vs. 60%), and Contacts (100% vs. 86.7%),’ the report says.
