Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) has announced that flu vaccines for the new flu season are now available. Medical professionals warn that the coronavirus is not the only threat to public health this season. As usual, the flu virus also presents a risk. Therefore, HSE staff are required to get vaccinated.

To comply with the decree of the Chief state sanitary doctor, HSE University will organize the administration of flu vaccinations starting on September 1. Staff will be vaccinated with the Sovigripp trivalent influenza vaccine (which consists of hemagglutinin of the influenza virus subtype A [H1N1], hemagglutinin of the influenza virus subtype A[H2N2], and hemagglutinin of the influenza virus type B). The vaccine complies with World Health Organisation recommendations.

The vaccination schedule is available on the Office of Staff and Student Benefits website.

Employees can get vaccinated independently during the nationwide vaccination period and submit a certificate verifying that they have been vaccinated to the university. Employees who have additional health insurance can be vaccinated independently in medical institutions covered by their insurance programme or at the university medical office.

Students will also be able to get vaccinated. Vaccination in this case will be recommended. Information on the schedule and vaccination points are available on the Office of Staff and Student Benefits website.
