The pandemic has forced us to transfer not only our work and studies online, but our festivals, open house events, and public talks. The University has managed to organize many of our traditional events online, such as HSE Day, but unfortunately, not all events can be held online if we are to preserve their purpose and spirit.
The Academic Council made a tough decision not to hold the competition for the Golden HSE Award this year. The competition always ends with an awards ceremony, a festival on the University’s birthday, which brings together staff from different departments. The Golden HSE is an opportunity to meet your colleagues in an informal atmosphere, to enjoy some school spirit, and to feel recognized—deservedly so—by your colleagues.
This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we cannot organize the traditional awarding ceremony. Unfortunately, we believe that at an online ceremony, it would be impossible to create the atmosphere that we value so much. That’s why we are going to announce a new competition date after the situation stabilizes and all pandemic-related restrictions are lifted.
We hope that in the new year, we will be able to partake in the traditional festive atmosphere of the Golden HSE in person.
See you soon!
