Alexander Karminsky, HSE Tenured Professor, won ‘Professor of the Year’ award in the category ‘Economic Sciences’. Andrei Melville, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, received ‘Dean of the Year 2020’ award. Both awards were conferred during the recent Professorial forum, which was held in Moscow on November 16-19.
The forum determines the role of Russian research and academic elite in the effective implementation of national projects, including interaction and partnership of legislative and executive authorities with the research and academic community.
Alexander Karminsky has been working at HSE University since 2020. He is academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, doctor of technical and economic sciences and author of more than 200 publications in academic journals and 30 books.
Andrei Melville is Distinguished Scholar of Russia, doctor of philosophy. He has been working at the HSE since 2009.
Vladislav Grib, Chairman of the National NGO 'Russian Professorial Assembly, organizer of the ‘Professorial Forum 2020’, notes that ‘ “Professor of the Year” is the first award in the history of Russia, when professors — Russian academic elite - are assessed independently by their colleagues. The professor's contribution was evaluated comprehensively by a set of indicators. The award doesn’t evaluate specific universities, but particular professors.’
