FAQ on COVID Vaccines, Testing, and Treatment for International Students and Staff

VACCINATION

Can a foreign citizen get vaccinated at HSE University?

The on-campus vaccination drive at HSE University in Moscow has come to a close. If there is a new vaccination drive, the Office of Staff and Student Benefits will send an email with information to all staff and students.

Is COVID-19 vaccination covered by my private medical insurance policy?

No, vaccination is not covered by medical insurance.

Can a foreign citizen get a COVID-19 vaccine in Moscow?

Yes, if:

  • The foreign citizen is an employee of an embassy or a diplomatic mission registered by the MoFA;
  • The foreign citizen has one of the following forms of documentation:
  1. Residence permit in the Russian Federation;
  2. Temporary residence permit with registration in Moscow
Where can a foreign citizen with a residence permit or temporary residence permit and registration in Moscow get a COVID-19 vaccine in Moscow?

The information on this is continuously changing. Please follow the updates on the HSE Office of Staff and Student Benefits page, as well as MOS.RU and other online resources.

As of today, vaccination is available as follows:

For free
  • Upon preliminary registration on MOS.RU 

At City Polyclinic No. 5, 3 Daev Pereulok, Building 1, Floor 5 (entrance from Sretensky Tupik), nearest metro station Sukharevskaya.

Please register for vaccination in advance by phone +7(495)607-6998. Important: Be sure to indicate that you are a staff member of HSE University.

Please have with you: passport, SNILS, residence permit or temporary residence permit.

  • Without preliminary registration at any mobile vaccination stations at malls: GUM, VDNH, Gelikon Opera Theatre, Depo Food Mall, Podsolnukhi Food Mall, My Documents Flagship Office at Afimall City, Gagarinsky Mall, Riviera Mall, RIO Leninsky Mall, Dubrovka Mall, Arena Plaza (the list is subject to change, please clarify it online).

Please have with you: passport, SNILS, residence permit or temporary residence permit.

On a paid basis

Nowhere. According to the Order of Moscow Department of Health No. 41-18-250/21 as of 21.04.2021, vaccination of foreign citizens at private clinics is not allowed.

If a foreign citizen has received their first shot of the vaccine, where can they get their second shot?

1. If they received their first shot at HSE University they can get their second shot at City Polyclinic No. 5, 3 Daev Pereulok, Building 1, Floor 5 (entrance from Sretensky Tupik), nearest metro station Sukharevskaya.

Important: At the reception, be sure to indicate that you are a staff member of HSE University and have come for the second shot of vaccination.

Make sure you have your vaccination certificate with you. The day before vaccination, please contact the clinic and confirm the details, phone +7(495) 607-6998.

2. If you received your first shot at MProfiko clinic (34 Zemlyanoy Val, Kurskaya metro station)

3-4 days prior to the scheduled date of your second shot, please confirm your appointment with the HSE Office of Staff and Student Benefits, phone +7 (495) 621 70 78

What vaccines are available at Moscow clinics today?

As of today, three vaccines are registered in the Russian Federation: Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona and CoviVac. Currently, Moscow clinics mostly offer Sputnik V. Please check with the clinics to get the information on the other vaccines.

TESTING

Where can a foreign citizen take a PCR COVID test?

For free at HSE University. Preliminary registration via MyHSE profile is required.

On a paid basis at any clinic that offers it.

Where can a foreign citizen get tested for COVID-19 antibodies?

On a paid basis only, at any clinic that offers it.

Antibody tests are not offered at HSE University.

What should a foreign citizen do if they get sick (with a fever or other symptoms of a respiratory infection)?

Doctors from Medincentre clinic do not make home visits to patients with a fever (this is a state regulation for the period of the pandemic)

Call the VSK insurance hotline: phone in Moscow +7 (495) 785-10-57, +7 (495) 727-44-44 (English-speaking operators available). They will help with further instruction. Please be informed that home-based PCR tests are offered on a paid basis.

If you receive a positive PCR test result, the local state outpatient clinic will be responsible for your treatment (a local doctor pays you a visit, a CT scan is performed by emergency medical technicians, etc). The laboratory that processes your test result automatically sends the information to the clinic.
