On April 23rd, the finalists of the Spring Student Project Contest defended their projects. HSE Life gives you an overview of the projects that will be implemented at HSE during 2021.
‘Donor Day’ has been held regularly since 2016. Supported by the Student Initiative Support Centre it is organized by the Armenian Club together with the largest Blood Transfusion Station in Europe. Students, HSE faculty and staff, as well as anyone willing to donate blood, can participate in the campaign. The organizers believe that this project will actively assist in developing the donor movement, as well as promoting charity activity and a healthy lifestyle.
‘Open Your Eyes’ is one of the largest charitable student organizations at HSE University. The team works on providing assistance for children and adults with special needs. The volunteers organise trips to boarding schools on a regular basis.
"Open Your Eyes" often works with institutions that are far from Moscow and participants can face travel difficulties. This project will help to solve these problems and make it easier for those involved to travel.
SOS is an inter-campus orienteering and rafting competition, where you can take part in an active form of tourism and meet students from other campuses. Everyone is welcome to participate: both students and teachers (70% of the team members must be students). SOS is organized by 40 people, who will assemble teams and conduct tourism and orienteering training. The competition will be held in the Perm Region.
The event is timed to coincide with Entrepreneur's Day on May 25. HSE Business Club Forum is an event aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among students. According to the creators, there is currently no existing platform in Russia where Russian businessmen can share their experience with young student entrepreneurs. Forum participants will be able to ask questions to representatives of large businesses, as well as gaining knowledge and making useful contacts.
‘Active School’ is an annual three-day trip for first-year students organized by Ingroup STS, and has been running for 20 years. Of 7,000 students, only 100 are selected: they organize large-scale events with Ingroup StS or develop their own extracurricular projects.
MuzVyshka is a open-air youth music festival that has been held regularly for the last 18 years. At the festival, student groups can fulfil their performing ambitions, and find a new audience. The headliner of the festival is traditionally a performer who is popular among students. The Muzvyshka programme also features interactive zones from partners, a food truck area, and music workshops.
The creators of the XCE FACTOR talent show strive to maintain HSE’s reputation and plan to hold such competitions annually. Students, doctoral students, and staff are all invited to take part in the show.
The project will provide quick access to information on HSE services and facilitate the work of student mentors: the answers to frequent and important questions will be brought together in one programme.
This is a night-time festival at HSE University in St. Petersburg, and will bring together everyone-students, graduates, teachers, staff, speakers and other guests. According to the festival organisers, it will unite all student groups from HSE University in St. Petersburg in one place and will show their potential in a common project.
STorm is a three-day activity for first-year students, which helps them adapt to the university, introduces them to student life and motivates them to engage in extracurricular activities and find new friends. The project brings together students from all degree programmes.
