On April 29, the winners of the All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects among higher education organizations were announced. The competition committee approved 312 projects from 142 universities. The winning projects included four by students of HSE University.
Together, the winning HSE student projects received a total of 7,200,000 roubles.

The ‘Median’ project will focus on creating a virtual anthology of the recent history of Soviet and Russian media.
‘Median’ will give students from any part of Russia an opportunity to learn about the history of media, gain practical skills (preparing scripts, writing texts, filming, and editing), and learn more about working in the media industry.
After the grant period, the project will continue developing an educational website about the history of media and updating its content. The authors plan to hold project presentations at regional universities for students of relevant degree programmes.

EcoLab is the largest student environmental organization in Russia, which has been working since 2013. The main goal of the project, based at HSE University, is to create the first visual model illustrating the principles of Russia’s cyclical economy and expand it to other educational institutions.
An important part in the cyclical economic process is the organisation of waste processing. The project will also cover other environmental problems, so that Russian students and residents are aware of them and become involved in their solution.
In the future, the project participants plan to conduct master classes on recycling, educational events, and sell products made from recycled materials.
4 million roubles
‘The Innovator’s Voice’ aims to develop social elevators for young people and support local innovations, in which the authors — young teachers, entrepreneurs, and students — will be able to participate.
The project will focus on developing and promoting innovations in education in addition to identifying and supporting talented young people from all regions of Russia. To achieve these goals, the project plans to conduct acceleration programmes in Moscow, the Samara Region, and the Kaliningrad Region; an online and offline eduthon (similar to the hackathons for developers); and the All-Russian competition of innovations in education until the end of 2021.

‘Burevestnik’ promotes and revives student sports in Russia.
‘Burevestnik’ plans to create a Resource Center for the Development of Student Athletics in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region to coordinate all participants and to increase the number of student sports clubs in educational organizations.
Upon completion of the project, the centre will continue its work to create adequate conditions for student athletics. The project will be tested in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and, upon successful implementation, will be extended to other regions.
