On May 12, visitors to the HSE University building on Pokrovka can sign and send postcards to friends, relatives, and the residents of nursing homes. The campaign is timed to HSE University’s anniversary, and will move to other HSE University buildings from May 19 to June 30.
On May 12, the joint project of the HSE University Volunteer Centre and the Russian Post will be launched at the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The campaign was initiated by the HSE University Office for Digital Media and Promotion. The seven postcards on offer were designed and created by students of the HSE Art and Design School.
The event will start at 12 pm in the central atrium of the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar. During the official opening event from 12pm to 3 pm, representatives of the Russian Post will put themed stamps on the signed postcards in celebration of the occasion. A mailbox for postcards will be placed on Pokrovka for a week, before moving to another building. The promotion campaign will continue until the end of June.
Postcards can be sent to any address in Russia or abroad. Those in attendance on May 12 (and on May 13 if necessary) can also sign postcards for seniors in nursing homes. The HSE University Volunteer Centre has a longstanding collaboration with the ‘Joy of Old Age’ (Starost' v Radost') Foundation. In particular, the foundation participated in the Charity Xmas festival in 2019, and in 2020, HSE University students sent New Year's cards to the residents of nursing homes. According to the foundation's staff, the residents are always glad to receive greeting cards.
