The HSE Institute of Education will hold the seminar ‘Contemporary Childhood: Theory and Practice. New Findings on Formative Assessment’ on March 20. Angela M. Lui (DAACS Project Manager, CUNY School of Professional Studies) will share the results of her research, as well as talk about the benefits of formative assessment and the connection with the processes of self-regulation.

The HSE Chamber of Nationalities will celebrate the international holiday of Navruz on March 22 in the Pokrovka Building. Navruz is one of the most ancient and beloved holidays for many people around the world. For many centuries, it has been a symbol of peace, generosity, kindness, and mercy. HSE’s Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Tajik and Uzbek clubs invite everyone to share this day with them. The festival will feature folk dances, songs, and workshops. Visitors will be able to treat themselves to national dishes, including the staple Navruz dish—Sumalak.

This performance is about life as it is seen by different generations: young people, middle-aged people, and older people. It is about the importance of caring about other people. The actors include some HSE University staff who share their perspectives on life, the problems of age, and communication.
