The HSE University building on Maly Tryokhsvyatitelsky Pereulok has reopened after renovations. All classrooms in the refurbished building have new plasma screens, the corridors have walls for writing in chalk and markers, and there are comfortable spaces for working and studying.
Since 2014, the building on Maly Tryokhsvyatitelsky Pereulok has been home to the HSE University School of Communication. The building was temporarily closed in summer 2022 and has reopened to students and staff less than a year later.
The building renovation project was developed by the HSE Art and Design School. All classrooms and teacher co-working spaces in the new building are equipped with plasma screens which can be used for presentations, group work, and creative projects. Shared spaces in the building can be transformed and adapted to suit various event formats, from small-scale group meetings to open days hosting several hundred visitors. The floors of the refurbished building are colour coded: the first floor is yellow, the second floor is green, the third floor is turquoise, and the fourth floor is red.
Other features of the new building include:
— two coworking areas for students on the first and third floors
— coworking spaces for teachers
— ‘cubicle chairs’ where students can work or listen to webinars in peace
— coffee and snack machines
— walls which can be written on with markers in the halls of the first and third floors, as well as a blackboard in the coffee area on the first floor
— gifts donated by graduates of the School of Communication: a mirror in the first-floor hall and table football in the hall on the third floor
The building is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 11 pm.
