Students of the HSE Perm Visit Florence

A group of the students of the HSE Perm under the supervision of Aleksey Kamenskikh, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities, took part in an international student workshop ‘Colours in Art and Culture’ in Florence.

The event was organized by the Romualdo del Bianco Foundation. Students from Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, and Armenia, and other countries took part in the workshop. Presentations on various topics were made, ranging from national cuisine to rehabilitation after serious injuries or illnesses. Students also discussed art, literature, history, advertising, design, crafts, and architecture. All projects were presented in English. In addition to the workshop, participants had an opportunity to visit the most famous museums in Florence.

Maria Budiakova, a second-year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities in Perm, admitted that the journey was not only educational, but also full of adventure. She mentioned that the workshop organizers did a great job helping the students to see the inner life of the city. They left Italy with new information about the city’s art and history, as well as Florentines’ lifestyle and culture. She also expressed thanks to Andrey Borisov, Head of the Department of Humanities, and Galina Volodina, Director of the HSE Perm for organizing the journey to Florence.
