All right, to think about the environment on April 22 is not that difficult, but how about doing something good for the planet? On April 22 and 23, Green HSE movement stands will be open in five HSE buildings: on Myasnitskaya, Shabolovka, Malaya Ordynka, Staraya Basmannaya, and Khitrovsky Pereulok. At each of these stands, you’ll be able to leave your old electronic devices (of any kind, from cell phones and their chargers, to mixers and printers), and get a tasty reward in exchange for them. Electronic devices will continue to be collected until April 24. The stands will also welcome those who want to participate in a swapshop: bring something that you no longer need but in good condition and take something that someone else has brought. We particularly encourage swapping books. Old things will find new owners and won’t end up unwanted and on a rubbish tip.
Something special will also take place in the evening on April 22. We’ll be showing the film ‘The Age of Stupid’ in the HSE building on 9/11 Myasnitskaya Ulitsa, room 423, at 6.30. You’ll be able to learn more about what is happening with the planet and then discuss it with Irina Antyushina, manager for sustainable development at Unilever Russia. At the same time, a master class using the Ecologic economic game, where the players’ task is to develop their business without damaging the environment, will take place in one of the HSE buildings on Shabolovka.

We hope that after this Earth Day many HSE students will move on from thinking about the environment to actually doing something to save it.
