HSE Extreme Sports Club is inviting students, lecturers, alumni and their friends to spend their New Year holiday (January 2-9) at Gudauri, one of the best ski resorts in Georgia. Registration is open until December 5.
It’s the fourth time the Extreme Sports Club has organized a trip to Gudauri, a great destination for anybody who enjoys skiing and snowboarding.
‘It is extremely important to start the new year with well organised, exciting activities and unforgettable experiences. In order to get everything right, it’s best to plan the trip in advance. The reasons are obvious: first of all, the number of places in the group is limited, secondly, the nearer the holidays, the more expensive the plane tickets,’ says club member Harry Rutberg. ‘Trips to Gudauri have become a tradition for the Extreme Sports Club, and this destination was not chosen at random. This trip is comfortable and exciting for both advanced skiers and snowboarders, and beginners who have never tried snowboarding or downhill skiing. Experienced instructors from the Extreme Sports Club will help beginners to learn skiing or snowboarding. You can go on the trip with your friends or alone, as it is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.’
Gudauri is a tourist centre and ski resort located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Ridge, 120 km from the capital, Tbilisi. Slopes are equipped with modern lifts, with the lower station about 2000m above sea level, and the higher station at just over 3300 m. The total length of the runs is 50 km.
Participants will stay in comfortable rooms in a hotel with breakfast and dinner provided, they will receive a ski pass for six days and sports insurance for the whole trip. The club also organizes transport from Tbilisi to Gudauri and back. Please note that Russian citizens need an international passport to go to Georgia.
