Students of HSE Faculty of Computer Science won the first Russian Hackathon by AccorHotels and got the opportunity to finalize their project together with experts from the international accelerator NUMA Moscow and then present it to the company’s higher management in Paris.
Anton Konovalov, Alexander Litovchenko and Vyacheslav Sanzharov, 3rd-year students of the bachelor’s programme in Software Engineering, developed a system for the collection and analysis of guest information through Wi-Fi, GPS and Beacon access points. The analytics harvested from this application will significantly improve the efficiency of AccorHotels hotel management services.
The 48-hour hackathon of the global operator of the hotel chain AccorHotels was held in late April and brought together more than 100 participants from all over Russia.
Each team included a designer, a developer and an entrepreneur. The teams competed in creating the best application designed to solve one of three key tasks: improving employee communication and work processes, improving the quality of service, and increasing the efficiency of loyalty programmes.
The other team of the Faculty of Computer Science, represented by 3rd-year students of the bachelor’s programme in Software Engineering Ksenia Davydova, Vladislav Orlov, Maxim Sorokin and Alxander Kholodnyak, developed a loyalty programme for the guests of the hotel restaurant and won a special prize for the best implementation of deeplinking in solving one of the main tasks of the hackathon.
