HSE students’ team ‘BeeCycle’ have presented one of the best projects at AngelHack Moscow and won the Beeline category.
On June 24-25, 2016, the final round of AngelHack Moscow was held in Beeline’s head office. The event was organized by the Apps4All developer community. AngelHack is the world's largest and most diversified hackathon, and aims to help the international technological community establish closer cooperation with Silicon valley.
The event brought together more than 120 programmers, designers and developers, who submitted 27 developed prototypes of services in 4 categories. The partners for this event were Google, Beeline and Code4Impact.
HSE business informatics students from the team ‘BeeCycle’ won in the Beeline category.
‘BeeCycle’ is a bicycle navigator with gamification elements. The application helps cyclists to find safe and convenient routes around the city, based on data from open sources and LBS. In addition, the app lets you compete with other users and win prizes from Beeline for good results.
Ilya Olshak, head of digital products promotion at Beeline said, ‘in the finals we decided to focus on a single, but complex brief. It included tasks using both the API Beeline platform and LBS services, with the aim of creating an attractive user interface and gamification elements. The ‘BeeCycle’ team was the best. They were really enthusiastic with the idea, talked to all the experts at the event and in just 24 hours created a service with good potential and a clear business model. The majority of the 27 projects presented at AngelHack Moscow have the possibility of being developed beyond the hackathon. And Beeline, as an operator of digital solutions, is ready to help them.’
