Lectures by Beryl ter Haar at HSE Faculty of Law

In December 2016 Beryl ter Haar, Assistant Professor at Leiden University (Netherlands), delivered a series of lectures on labor law in the European Union, as well as several workshops for students on the MA programme ‘Legal Support for Personnel Management ‘, the BA programme in Jurisprudence and doctoral students at HSE's Law Faculty.

On December 14 Beryl ter Haar conducted a seminar on ‘Law and soft law in the world of legal pluralism’ for doctoral students.

On December 13, 15, and 17 Beryl ter Haar delivered lectures on:

  • Employment contracts in the EU;
  • Working time, combining family and work; typical employment relations (part time; fixed term; temp; on-call/0-hours). The idea of ‘flexicurity’ (flexibility and security) in the EU;
  • Employment contract termination and dispute settlement in the EU.

The event was organized by the Department of Labor and Social Welfare Law at the HSE Faculty of Law.

On December 20 Beryl ter Haar supervised a role game ‘Moot Court’ at HSE Law faculty. The game, about labor disputes under European Court of Human Rights rules involved HSE students on the ‘Legal Support for Personnel Management’ MA programme.
